Often the tendon sheet  is visible thickened and painful when compressed. The constriction causes heavy pain when moving the hand, especially movements which include twisting in the joint.

In  initial stage sometimes Thumb Immobilization in combination with anti inflammatoric medication may help. Mostly, the problem becomes chronical soon and needs operative procedure.

Operative procedure

Under local anesthesia opening of the tendon tunnel and removal of the indurated and thickened Tendon sheat, Adhaesions will be removed. Duration about 10 minutes. Here the typical incision:

What’s next

Splint for about a week. Little pain after the surgery. Patient is encouraged to normal finger use immediately after operation.
